Dude on rock

Rock on dude

Most climbers will agree the last thing that you want is sweaty hands on the crux. Chalk is necessary to keep your hands grippy and dry.

Functionality is key when designing gear for the outdoors. Chalk bags need to be small enough to carry up a wall but large enough to fit your hands and provide quick, easy access to chalk. I went through several versions. Some were too small, didn’t allow you to fit two hands into the bag, or didn’t close well enough. A few versions later I landed here.

Ropes are a huge part of rock climbing; they save you from big falls, allow you to reach new heights, and stay confident. However, these ropes wear out and need replacing after repeated abuse. But how do you manage the waste included with retiring old ropes?

I wanted to find ways to use old climbing ropes and figured that making chalk bags with it would be a fitting end.
